This credential validates a professional's knowledge and experience in transportation planning. Transportation planning is a discipline that examines and evaluates the potential of future actions to improve the movement of people and goods by motor vehicle, public transportation, walking, and cycling in accordance with a set of objectives. Planning generally includes land use and transportation relationships; needs assessment; transportation system planning; transportation system evaluation; public policy; environmental analyses; and plan implementation.
Knowledge delivery is designed for a self-paced practical, review and theory-based program. administered pre-test exams per learning segment to re-enforce and validate knowledge comprehension. Candidates must pass a written exam provided by the credentialing body.
